I'm in Scottsdale and I just got an xv6700. When I surf the net on my phone through the Cricket network it's really really fast. It seems like it is EVDO but my connection icon still says 1X
I tried to do a speed test like Jammis did but the 2wire test site freezes up my IE.
could I be surfing at EVDO speed but my phone not recognize it?

Yes. You have to have the 50.00 plan to get EvDo. Or any internet for that matter.

ok look I was never trying to brag about evdo I had my frienRAB in different markets help me figure out where evdo is up. I wanted to show everyone evdo is coming and its fast. I was purely trying to prove cricket is indeed getting evdo very soon and try to figure out where it is going up first. the person who gave me the prls asked my not to give them out past my testers. I promise as soon as I get the go ahead ill post them all up for everyone. untill then try to respect im helping and giving good info out. if this is the way people will react ill just stay quite from now on.

Checking in from Albuquerque. Just got service this morning. $221 out the door for card + activation and first month of service free. $34 a month after taxes with my existing line of service.

As for how it performs...

At first, I was disappointed. I wasn't seeing speeRAB much faster than dialup. After a few adjustments to the TCP stack and a reboot, it's screaming now.

My average download is 674 Kbps with a max observed of 1.2rabps
Average upload is 101Kbps with a max observed of 158Kbps.

Getting 3 bars of signal in my adobe house and 4 bars outside.

Very impressed so far!

Doing the 1rab file test, I'm only getting between 483, and 490 kbit/s. Seems kinda poor. (Better than 1X though) The lower mobile tests were saying that it was too fast to get a good response.

Ok so I upgraded to the 50 dollar plan and did *228 and still nothing. I am using a ppc 6700 are there any phone setting's I have to change? Or should I asume it's not available to me yet?
