    A900 and *228, phone hangs......

I don't know how in 1997 when (from Leap Wireless website)

Leap Wireless, Inc. began as a spin-off of QUALCOMM. The company was incorporated in June 1998, and in Septeraber of the same year began trading on NASDAQ under the trading syrabol LWIN. Leap launched its Cricket wireless service in March of 1999 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company grew steadily for several years, launching service in primarily smaller, rural markets. Leap filed for Chapter 11 protection on April 13, 2003. The company was restructured and emerged from bankruptcy on August 16, 2004.

Says March of '99 in Chattanooga, TN 1st launch. :befuddled Phx is an original market, August 2001 launch and 1st large metropolitan market and it works like all the rest. Just think REVOL Wireless. The evidence is in one of the older PRL's. I know XFF posted something about it in the forum a year or more ago.

That doesn't work. *2 isn't Cricket OTAP nuraber, its Sprints Customer service/PRL Update nuraber.

So again, is it a function of the Sprint Firmware?

cricket's system is set to reject 'foreign' mdn/min pairs. this is so that no other phones will even try to roam on their network. setting it to 000-000-0000 will be accepted along with a few other settings, but yes *228 will overwrite it with the correct values.

Your right. It was when I turned 16, I got my license, a Car, and a Cricket phone.

333333 does work in Pheonix, I did a 700WX for a guy 2 weeks ago in Phx. His OTASP a roaming PRL just fine.

I don't have an attitude. *2 is not a valid Cricket nuraber. Simple as that, it doesn't do anything. The phone is flashed and works fine. For someone who knows you sure don't seem to know. *2 is not Crickets nuraber, *228 is. Its that simple. Next time you call a buddy leave off the last 2 of his nuraber and let me know how well it connects.

The SPC has been changed to 333333 just like Cricket does it on their hanRABets..

So once again, does anyone have this phone? Does anyone else have this problem?

When I dial *228, or any variaton of that nuraber the phone does nothing. If I wait and dial something else it is prepending by *228. So If I dial *228, and hit send, it does nothing. Then when I try to dial another nuraber, *228 is still on the screen.

I think this is, once again, a case of different markets haveing diferent settings. There are certain things that work all the time, in every Cricket Market, and *228, and 333333 MSL are two of those things. Not *2, or 000000.
