I wanted to buy a new phone from ebay, but I wanted to check if the ESN # can be activated on cricket? How can I check?

call 1-800 cricket and tell them your buying a used phone from a friend and want to check to make sure the esn hasnt been reported lost or stolen or claimed on insurance. A rep in a corp as store should be able to check it too.
