OTA on Flash Phones No GO?

Cricket ships phones with a non-roaming prl that will work in any market. when a new market(s) launches that requires a new prl they will ship phones with the new prl only to those markets and phones with the old prl to existing markets until they are sold out of inventory on the old prl then all markets recieve hanRABets with the new prl.

fyi prl shipping on the new aws phones is 29040

OTA on Flash Phones No GO?

Um, no. Its actually to idiot-proof the system.

They can control whats on branded phones... for example, all branded phones have 000000 as the spc. All branded phones are 100% compatible.

However, they can NOT control phones they've never had thru their system.
So, for example, you have a sprint branded phone, flashed to cricket, in your hand, with a sprint SPC, and you try to add roaming to it, the OTA will not work, the feature will not work, and who'll be pissed?
    You the idiot consumer.
    Who will you blame?
    Cricket.
    Who is wrong?
You... But since you're an idiot consumer, you really dont care, in your mind Cricket is wrong.

Its too much of a hassle. By taking the simple step, and blocking access to certain features if the hanRABet is not native cricket, they solve alot of hassle.

OTA on Flash Phones No GO?

    1) I do not have OTASP issues with flashed phones
    2) Yes it is to idiot proof the system and not allow you to easily put unsupported features on phones that are not supported., but you can get the codes added through the billing system you just need to talk to the right people in CARE, or in a corporate store.

    3) there is enough problems with customers just not doing the *228 after adding roaming then *****ing when it does not work, this just enhances that problem.

OTA on Flash Phones No GO?

did not read other reponses yet, so this may have been answered.

flashed phones will OTA fine if their spc has been set to 000000

non native cricket ESN's will be rejected by the system if you attempt to add any roaming service codes to the account, no way around that.

OTA on Flash Phones No GO?

ok... to clear this up, i just (5 minutes ago) OTA'd a clean LG 8550 that I flashed this AM (Voice&SMS only) Not only was OTASP successful but it gave the phone an EVDO PRL. I didn't have a chance to check the version I only noticed as I was handing it back to the customer that it had the dual bars indicating EV strength and 1x strength.

edit: actually this only confuses me more as to why i have a Cricket SLVR in my hand that refuses to d/l an EVDO PRL...
