This was an awsome episode with the great fighting as normal, but the comic relief storyline with Nia's cooking, and Simon's eating properly.

THREE commercial breaks Sci Fi? THREE!!!?
How right you are, Attenborough.
No problem, you're a great voice actor. So, I'M the one? What does that mean?
Also:
But, it'll decrease any chance of it working again.
your just too old, your hormones have dried up and you can no longer appreciate the awesome ecchi and Kamina's manly-ness (the shows so called manly charms are 99% Kamina).
I'm seeing a lot a paralels to Evangelion another Gainaix show in this. The main character Simon when he is young reminRAB me alot of early Shinji. And the scene where Yoko tells Simon to toughen up reminRAB me alot of the scene in end of Evangelion that had the context of the scene with Shinji and Misato. And the state Simon gets in after his
bros death
Is alot like the state Shinji gets in after he kills Kakarou.
Gainax is nowhere near EVA depression. If nothing else, Gurren is the reconstruction of Evangelion, or more like "What-if" in a positive spin.
Gainax is mostly a happy, fun creator, ya know? Diebuster, Gunbuster, FLCL, Shopping Arcade, etc.
That, was awesome. I don't care what anyone says. Such a nice ending too... Hey? How did Boota change back to normal?
Well, well. One of the most eagerly anticipated anime shows in recent memory makes its U.S. television debut on the Sci-Fi Channel today. Gurren Lagann has had an interesting history in America. Originally licensed by ADV Films, their license was taken away and Bandai Entertainment picked it up. Shortly after being picked up, a TV broadcast was announced and the English crew had to do an accelerated dub schedule in order to meet its July 28th airdate. Well, the time is near. I was originally going to make an Ani-Monday talkback to cover this and Now and Then, Here and There, but with the sheer amount of fans on this board, I think separate talkbacks would be better.
This thread will cover the entire run on Ani-Monday. Here's tonight's schedule:
11:00 PM: Episode 1 - "Bust Through the Heavens With Your Drill!"
11:30 PM: Episode 2 - "I Said I'm Gonna Pilot That Thing!"
All times are Eastern.
