What's a good natural medicine for swelling?

My finger has been hurt and is swelling and my a doctor's prescribe me diclofenac sodium, but I hate using these chemicals.

What's a good natural medicine for internal consumption that I can use instead?

Someone told me about frankincense, but I could not find clear information about it on the net.

For the most part, swelling will go away on its own as long as it isn't part of a larger condition. Here is what is recommended for the treatment of swelling:
Rest & Protection. Try not to irritate or re-injure the swollen area.
Ice to Prevent Swelling. Wrap an ice pack in a towel and hold to the affected area. It is recommended to alternate between 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off to help reduce pain and swelling.
Compression & Immobilization. If the swelling is surrounding a bone or joint injury, the area should be wrapped in a bandage or immobilized to prevent further injury and swelling.
