A friend and I were talking about the perils of being broke and not being able to afford a dedicated laptop that would allow for using vsti's in a live setting. So I figured I'd ask- Is there any kind of software that is stripped down and basic that would allow for multiple VSTi's that could run on, say, a cheap netbook? I realize that most VSTi's can run as standalone programs, but the issue is being able to juggle between them quickly without really having to minimize and maximize, which would be needed with the smaller screen res of a netbook. Basically a stripped down, very simple VSTi capable piece of software that isn't especially demanding of system resources. Any suggestions?
