I posted in the LG forum but realized this is the appropriate forum.

I'm getting a new phone in 2 weeks. I can take my dad's 8100 or I can go for the 8300, 8500 or wait for the 8600. Anything you have to offer would be great.

I have an 8100... I use it as a dial-up modem (it's a hack I found here, actually) for my laptop. Free internet anywhere I have service (don't abuse).

I believe this was disabled in a firmware update, however, so you may want to check for that... I love my 8100, and the only reason I would switch would be to go to a PDA Smartphone (which may be happening soon).

    Hehehe, white chocolate...

Sorry, anyway, yeah. I don't know much about the chocolate, but it looks nice. I'm very impressed with pretty much all of LG's offerings (the 8100 is my third LG Phone) -- they've all been stable, rugged, dependable and had a decent battery life... not to mention a faster interface than the Samsung's and Moto's that I've seen. I think you'd be good with any of them.

thanks. yeah i HATE my moto phone. Speaking of 3 phones,, i'm on my 3rd moto phone. Absolute junk. My dad loves his 8100 and I've used it several times and have fallen in love with the ease of use.

the chocolate phone is a very nice phone. a lot of people come in asking for it BUT. people have had problems with the slider part of the phone getting lose after awhile and the side buttons can easly unlock the key pad when the phone is closed, when it becomes unlocked its very easy to open up the internet and suck up your minutes. i say the 8300. i have the 8100 and its the best phone i ever had!
