I think the iPhone would have a larger market percentage if they would have opened it to more companies than just at&t. Perhaps they are exclusive to roll out v1.0 (almost like a beta test to see how they handle it) and then when they come out with v2.0 they will open it up to more markets.
How much of a market share do you expect them to honestly capture? The phone hasn't proven itself yet. It just has fancy marketing and an (apparently) fancy interface.
We'll see how it holds up under the day-to-day usage. That will be the real ultimate determination of market share.

That's my point. This is really a beta test to see how well it holds up under real-world conditions. The second version will probably have 3g, corporate email, 3rd party developer support, etc. This gives them a change to get version 2.0 correct. Apple needs to make sure the iPhone is a huge success or it could hurt their entire image and bleed over into other product markets.
