I received my OTA update this morning. I am in the central Ohio market.
I doubt it will help with the poor to non existant 3g coverage but it might help the voice side.

T-Mobile does not sell the Nexus One. You could only upgrade to a Tmo phone.

T-Mobile where?
From http://google.com/phone it says you can get it with T-Mobile USA.
If Tmo doesn't sell it in their stores or on their site, how can they try and keep you around with it? The device is shipped from Google directly.
From what I understand all Google does is check against Tmo's database to see if you have the ability to upgrade. I can't imagine a Tmo rep that can "order" you an N1, because it's not theirs to sell or distribute -- it just uses their network. Perhaps you can have them mark you as eligible for upgrade?
Has anyone ever been upgraded via customer support to an N1 (I don't believe they can)?
i finally signed up today but been searching this forum for a little bit... i just wanted to state that i got the update... im not sure if my gf got it also... so wat is the update for?? and only a select few got it?? i was thinking it was 2.0 but sadly wasnt haha
My wife always complains of an echo when I call her from my office on the G1. Called her today after update and she said there was no echo. Also the echo I get form my own voice was mostly gone. So far so good.
It was just a radio update, to improve reception.
Don't expect 2.x to come to the G1 any time soon (if ever), it's a logistics nightmare.
My wife's sometimes does that. Hopefully this fixes it for her. Her first G1 actually had an internal blown speaker, and it sounded like whoever was calling her was talking through wax paper.
