Hello,
I will realize my dream, own a original US Robotics PalmPilot, because I've just ordered it(15 minutes ago). But I need to know where I could download applications that will work on it.

Good luck on making a serial port hotsync. Because there is no IR (though I believe there is an IR optional module for some early Palms), getting a desktop suitable to work will be your only option to add software.
Isn't there only 2mb of memory available?
I will be back to post my link to Palm sites....

Thanks or the link, but what is the problem with a serial port HotSync?
A lot of newer computers do not have a serial port. Since the original Palm devices came out during the windows 98 period you also might have problems on an xp computer too. Keep us posted on your attempts to get a Palm desktop working.
Ok, I will do some tries.
Tries on what type of computer? The really old Palm desktop came on floppys and not cds. I suppose the old floppies I can convert to cd, but basically I don't think I ever used an old palm desktop except for my old Palm IIIC.
I believe that I was able to use NotePad for Palm IIIc by transfering from a Palm M100 using File z.
Still any Palm OS 3.0 based program may not make the jump to an early Palm OS1.0 but you are welcomed to try.

Oh I forgot to say: Go Brazil for the World cup...
There is a device sold as an adapter for USB/Serial port DB9. It's not just an adapter, it incorporates a digital converter. The main issue with connecting a serial port device to a USB port is not the physical connection, but the digital translation of the pulse train. nathanpc, get yourself said device at a computers store.
I didn't see where the OP said he didn't have a serial port on his PC.
From what I've read, Palm Desktop 4.1.4E will work. http://forum.rabroad.com/earlier-mod...palmpilot.html
No one has addressed the OP's original question about apps for the Palm Pilot. A lot of info can be found in this forum: Earlier models
Pilot 1000 had 128k of RAM; Pilot 5000 had 512K. You could look through freewarepalm.com and search by category, then skip to the last page and work your way back.
You can make it work with a serial to usb adapter. I use the keyspan usa-19hs, to test palm IIIxe's that I repair and it works great.
As for software sources, I would recommend checking out PDA street:
Palm Boulevard: Software
They have a library of tons of older palm freeware programs. You would just want to search for ones which mention palm v1 compatibility, which i've seen on there.
