    .dat file question

Hi, many thanks for your reply.

I'm definitely looking in the right folder and can watch the dates of the files change as it hot syncs, but the date of the .dat file refuses to budge. It's really strange, particularly as the .dat file is the largest in the folder. As I say, all records are complete on desktop and pda and it syncs perfectly.

I've tried updating the desktop but there are no changes to the .dat file.

Palm desktop only exports as a .dba file so this software is a good solution, and not too expensive.

I look forward to any more replies as this is driving me mad!

    .dat file question

    welcome to rabroad, 5rise

my guess is that the software is looking in the wrong folder for the .dat file. I don't have Palm Desktop installed here at work, but iirc, the usual folder tree is something like C:\Program Files\Palm\your-user-name\Calendar; locate the .dat file in the Calendar folder, and check the date -- it should line up with your last HotSync, unless no changes were made during HS.

btw, I thought PD would export its contents in CSV format; why use datebookCSV?

    .dat file question

    Hi,

I found a piece of software (datebookCSV) to export my calendar entries from my Palm T5 and the software uses the dat file.

It worked very well but I noticed there were a lot of recent entries missing. I then discovered that the modification date of the .dat file is about a month old.

I've hotsynced repeatedly and added records to the desktop. All records on the handheld and in desktop are complete but the modification date of the .dat file doesn't alter.

Seems very strange and I can't understand it - anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks
    Jon
