In Look Around, local villagers gather to slay a monster. One warrior becomes so consumed with training towards this goal that he ignores all else in life. This delightful short was written, directed and animated by Lee kyu-tae while attending the Korea National University of Arts, Department of Animation in 2008. Lee kyu-tae's characters have a distinct look. His choice to animate in this sketchy, fluid style gives the short an organic feel. He's not afraid to stray from his character models in order to convey the right amount of emotion.

Reminds me of Genndy Tartakovsky’s work.
Actions speak louder then words.

There is quite a lot going on emotionally with the characters, and the story is told well solely through the animation. As a student project I can see the need to prove you can do that, and it was successful.
There were surreal moments mixed in that make me think he was trying to kill happiness. I guess I’ve seen that when you get the bad sport trying to convey the "wining is the only thing" mentality by saying “what are you smiling at” when they lose.

Added: I should mention the funny part where the guy would rather eat snakes then a lovingly prepared meal. Then latter not even a cats head could tempt him.
