Switching to old alltel phone on Verizon plan?

about two years ago verizon took over alltel and i switched over my phone to a verizon one about 1 year ago. now i'm having a few problems with it so i switched back to my old alltel phone online. it said i would have to change my data/message plan but i just clicked on continue and it activated my old alltel phone, everything works fine but i was wondering will there be any kind of differnt charge on my bill because of this? i don't know why it said i would have to change my data/message plan but then it worked anyway?

I would go check your current plan - it's possible they've changed or added a data/messaging plan without telling you. It's more likely that they will let you use data and messages without a data/messaging plan, but will charge you per-message and per-data, which could end up costing you a lot more than actually having a data/messaging plan.
