is the xbox live gold account subscriptions region lock like xbox games and microsoft points? i am in malaysia and buying the gold account thru xbox cost US$88 a year and that is times 3.0 currency into ringgit.....i saw on ebay and amazon its just around US$35-50 a year's subscription and that is much cheaper than on xbox itself..... once buying the seller will send the voucher code via email...

can i use it if i buy it off the amazon/ebay and not off xbox website?
