My Krzr physically broke. I got a txtm8 3G from the local cricket store.
I have no interest in paying $15/more month so I can tell people I have :wow: a blkbry or droid.

I was able to get to gmail.com for a few days (literally.) Now I get simply a popup w/ "OK" button showing "cannot connect." If I go to the gmail page indirectly, I get

It won't let me install the J2ME version.

If I have web, why do I need to pay $5 to use the gmail app. built into the phone?

Can I crack this thing and add a different browser on which gmail and other things will work? Mind pointing me to a thread or two for that? Should I be looking in the smartphone OS or non-smartphone OS forums?

I should also gripe about making a poor choice in full-keyboard.
