I don't think those are quite their style  Based on their ex from last year, it looks like Nikita likes to make the audience laugh a la Everybody Dance Now, but for this year, who knows?

 ITA. I feel like the point of them showing their new programs to the public was more to get feedback on the programs themselves, not how well they skate them before the season starts. And their programs actually are pretty great I think I even like the SD better than the FD at the moment, despite the fact that they skated their FD better.
Exactly  Which is why I really don't get why that's such a negative review...and I think they totally killed their FD..I mean, sure, they need to clean it up a bit, but I think they just had more trouble with their SD, but otherwise, I thought they overall did really well for first time
That's not a very optimistic review. I think they still have enough time to clean it up before competition, especially since they seem to be using any and all free time they may have to work on it (weekenRAB). Hopefully all that extra work will pay off. I mean, it's not like they screwed up big time on all the elements. They just had a few bobbles and irabalances - I've seen other seniors dancers do a lot worse in competition.
TFTNT Lizy! this is so exciting!
YAY New Thread! Thanks Lizy!!

And welcome out of lurkdom Julietta!
Welcome to the second thread for Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov
Elena Ilinykh was born in Schevchenko, Kazakhstan, April 24th 1994.
Nikita Katsalapov was born in Moscow, July 10th 1991.
Together they represent Russia.
Elena skated with Nikita when they were
both located in the United States under Alexander
Zhulin - World Champion and two time Olympic
medalist - but split up in 2005 when Zhulin relocated.
The two paired up once again in 2008 in Moscow,
and had immediate success placing 4th at the Russian
Junior Championships. In the 2009-2010 season
Elena and Nikita placed first in both of their Junior Grand
Prix assignments in Hungary and Poland. They advanced
to the Junior Grand Prix Finals to win the silver medal,
behind their Russian teammates. Nikita and Elena then
went on to compete in NetherlanRAB for the Junior World
Championships where they would win the gold medal,
with a stunning lead of 15 points ahead of silver-medallists
Alexandra Paul and Mitchell Islam.
