I had a fire started by the ground cable between cylinder head and firewall. It was a small fire and only wires seemed to be damaged. I have rewired everything. double checked everything was wired correctly.
When turning over, ground wire starts to smoke still. I assume a power wire is touching somewhere, but see nothing. Starter cable is not the problem as was the obvious first check. Any ideas? Another note, the coil did not have power to either side. I hot wired this as I couldn't find fuse blown or it's original power source.
Also I installed a distributor from a 2001, which is slightly different. Wondering if this should work or if that is the reason it still isn't running. I replaced it as the wires to the old one were burned.
