I was getting my novel ready to upload to Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing and was directed to change my file from docx to HTML. Following Amazon's instructions, I changed the type to "Web Page, Filtered (*.htm, *.html). When the file converted, the size went from 503 KB to 1.42 MB. Why such a dramatic change?
