    Do I have weird emotions?

So I'm a quite emotional person (though I'm working on it because crying in public is NOT something I like). Yet, when I watch movies I don't feel anything. I watched the Notebook just now. Nothing. I watched Pearl Harbour. Nothing. I watched Titanic, Walk the Line, The Green Mile. Nothing.

Yet, as soon as I read a book that I like and it has a sad ending, I bawl my eyes out. I even cry when a good book finished happily just because I didn't want it to end.

Isn't that sort of weird, because our brain remembers or takes in a lot more of what is visual as in pictures and movies than of what is read. Or so I've learned in school.

    Maybe your brain doesn't.

Or maybe you just don't connect to the drama in those movies. They are pretty over-the-top dramatic. But books...there's a difference. Books, if you get into them (which it sounds like you do) can have a strong impact on you. And, from a book lover's perspective, books are more emotionally fused.

Think about it: a movie develops the character's image and personality for you. But, with a book, you develop the characters' voices, appearance, and connection with yourself.

For the last few years I have had a 10:3 ratio of books to movies that I read/watch. And I find that I get more into books and find movies to be a waste of time.

    Sounds Ok to me.

Don't worry about it. It doesn't sound like you are repressing.

    All the best to you.
