I'm thinking about going to college for Photography as my major. Is it worth it, or maybe I'll be better off taking some classes and learning on my own?

I'm not qualified to answer this question.
However I think I can say that it isn't a career to take on in the expectation of earning a good living. It's competitive.
On the other hand, if you are passionate about photography, not only will you do better at it, but you will be doing something that you love.
