2009 ford focus vs 2009 toyota corolla . .which one should i get?

well i have a job but this is the last big gift my parents are giving me and it for my 16th birthday
toyota corolla type s or ford focus (the one with the spoiler)
    i drive automatics
and i earnedd this . .i was gonna get a used 2005 dodge stratus coupee but theres a chance it wont last me 7 years or more so they will just get me something new!
okayy so the only thing i have to pay for is gas!
    but which is more reliable?
which is better for a 16 year old boy?
which has more room? (i have neices and nephews and lots of friends)
    basically the pros and cons
oohh and do they have soft brakes? (the harder u push the brake pedal, the fatser it will slow down) or hard brakes (when u barely push the brake pedal it slows down real quick)
i prefer the soft brakess but anywayss which one do you prefer for me?
    and pros and cons please
    thank you!

I would suggest Toyota Corolla Type S. I had a Dodge Stratus, and things started going wrong with it. And then another. The Toyota Corolla S gets a lot better gas mileage than the Ford Focus. Plus, The Toyota is more reliable and dependable. If you take care of it, and keep it maintained, and all that, it will last you for 10 years. I have a brother and sister-in-law who have a 1997 Toyota Corolla, and it still runs good. The Toyota Corolla Type S gets a lot better gas mileage than the Ford Focus.

Both are really great cars, but it depends on what you want, and what you're willing to pay.

For the money, you're going to get more with the ford focus, but you're also facing a lower resale value than the corolla. The newly redisgned focus is a lot edgier than the previous ones, and ride pretty nicely, although the brakes are pretty "soft".

The Corolla is going to be a "safe" buy. It's reliable, and has a really great resale value and good MPG, but to me, it's never really satisfying to drive- its just way too soulless and there are so many of them out on the road.

It just depends on what you feel comfortable driving, since both are the same class of car, they're really similar in space, speed/performance, and looks. Test drive them both, and see which one you feel more comfortable with behind the wheel.

Corolla but get the XRS, and I would say the interior looks much better.

    1. newer focuses are reliable but all corolla's are too
    2. for 16, well my opinion is the focus, all the way, there is many thing you can modify on the focus if that's what you want
    3. for room, well corolla by a little, not much though
    4. they both have farley soft brakes
    Pros on focus-
    a. light, so good on millage
    b. great handling
    c. not too many break downs
    d. great space for audio systems
    Cons on focus-
    a. not a car you look for if you want to be safe in an accident
    b. windows have odd feel when open cause how the wind comes in
    Pros on Corolla-
    a. quiet car
    b. also good on millage
    c. has nice a dashboard, lots of space
    d.pretty comfortable
    Cons on Corolla-
    a. doesn't have a look for the average high schooler
    b. not a huge color selection
    c. not as many modifications are easy as with the focus
--I'd take the focus if I were you
Well hope ya liked this answer
