Two of the cold hard facts of life are these:

1. You will be judged.
2. There's nothing that you can do about it.

Appearance matters wherever you work. If you walk into a tattoo parlor looking for a job in a 3-piece business suit and not a marking on you they'll probably show you to the door. On the other hand if you walked into a bank looking like that you'd have a fair shot at a job. The reverse is also true. No bank would hire a scarred, tattooed, and stapled Yale MBA regardless of how good he or she was.

As to "really easy" that's all relative as well. If you are a Yale MBA, running a large corporation might be pretty simple. If you're a high-school drop-out even working as a bank teller might be tough.
