No. The military won't accept anyone with a felony, especially an assualt felony.

Yea my friend has a felony and is going to court to get it removed and hopefully will win the case. well if hes not so lucky and the charges stick is it still possible to get into the military. he has an assault btw.its a felony f3 which is the weakest felony there is.

I'd think the military is so desperate for more cannon fodder that they'll take anyone.
However, All branches of the military are different when it comes to recruiting standards, but they all have regulations regarding felonies. The military maintains a high "moral" standard for recruits and is the basis for not allowing most felonies. If the felony occurred when you were a juvenile you have a better chance of getting in the military but if the felony occurred as an adult you may have a hard time getting in, if at all. In either case it all comes down to the type of offense and how long ago it was.
the military is not desperate for people. There are actaully waiting lists for certain MOS's because they are over-full. A felony record will disqualify him from joining the military... even if it is removed. I could be wrong but I am about 99% positive. The only way to know for sure is for him to talk to a recruiter. Just tell him to make sure he's honest with the recruiter because if he lies thinking that they won't find it... bad news!
i dont think you can get a waiver for felonies, misdemeanors yes, felonies, no... talk to a recruiter would be the best advice.
