If an R&S atheist & R&S Christian shared a leaky lifeboat, would they just argue...

...about God until it sank? Rather than, say, trying to cooperate in finding a way to fix the leak?

Maybe this is a poor way to ask my question, though.

I really wanted to ask about atheists & Christians and the challenge of addressing global population growth, global hunger & global warming.

But the leaky lifeboat fits better in the space for the question somehow.

Any answers?

Whatever, in said situation I'm totally using the tongue of whoever feels the need to argue about something not of imminent importance to plug the leak. Problems solved with a single blow

The atheist would realize that the boat was going sink and would become a Christian in order to invoke God's help. Either that would happen or the Christian would just make the water part and walk with the atheist to shore.

if we were around each other in RL i wouldn't want to talk about religion especially if the boat we are on is leaking....

as far as global population growth, people need to stop making kids on accident, there are far too many people in the world.

Please. I would not put my beliefs and views in a matter of life or death. When we are safe, then we can argue religion.
