    Suzuki Bandit 250cc Question?

I am planing on buying a Suzuki Bandit 250cc but all my friends and people i know says that this bike gives terrible problems in the carburetors which is costly to fix. I thought i would ask the riders all around the world if this Bandit does give problems? Reason why i wanted to buy a bandit was it's low end reconditioned price and looks which i like.

It was an amazing bike in the past a real head turner and one of those NEVER to be forgotten experiences; before the 250 BANDIT the only other 4 cyl 4 stroke 1/4 litre road bike was a 251 Bennelli which were expensive and highly un reliable ( Rumour is Suzuki stripped one and built the Bandit as an approveal of the design)
The Bandit is a better bike than most other 250's offered at the time but it did suffer from a number of minor issues
    1 Carb Icing
2 Poor maintainance brought about electrical problems
3 Lack of oil changes caused detonation of engine
4 Poor cycle parts caused handling problems

Suzuki resloved this when they introduced the VVT 400 and retrofitted components to the 250cc models

TBH the VVT 400 is the most complicated But the best bike as it avoids the majority of the issues which were there with the early 250's
The Most reliable is the NON VVT 250 and 400 introduced which were restricted in output, these bikes were the best for longevity.
The 600 + Bandits are the ones which are bullet proof but they too still suffer from the occasional carb icing in danp and cold conditions summer or winter)
It is only the 650 and 1250 injected models which do not have problems with inlet duct icing.

    Good choice
