Tell me poets, can you truly say you know the lady?

I saw the lady once again today,
A comely lass with alabaster cheek,
I asked her to come home with me and stay
And just as soon she turned and did not speak.
But I, obsessed, then thought her steps to trace
And speaking to her only heard a moan,
Then from a different vantage glimpsed her face…
My beauty had become a withered crone.
How could this be, when both were dressed the same
And in my quest she’d never left my sight?
I had a thought for which I have no name ―
The two are one; could this strange thought be right?
My beauty has two faces seen as one
And I will love her ‘til my days are done.
Actually, this one as well as the one stolen from me earlier today are my original compositions... loser!
Now bill him! It's your professional duty... lol

You really got me thinking here. Wonder whether my other half would relate well to this poem of yours? Aging process/ moods? Perfect last line "And I will love her 'til my days are done". very pleased that you put that in - it's made me feel much better this Sunday morning! (LOL)

    Someone once accused me of being our dear Sin;
And then that loony tune-out made me get blocked by H er P oetic boyfriend.
    Well, I suppose she realizes now that I am me;
And for her man, shes H is P roblem (but he loves the misery...)
My alter ego is quite a fair catch as doppelgangers go,
We're two Cali gurls that really RAWK, azz you know.
That's why we don't get offended by terms like 'PANTS!'
They would pant like a dog to get either of ours, given the chance!
Not being vain...mmmm, well maybe I am,
But when you're over 40, and you've still got it, then you can!
By the way, I just posted a poem for one of these men above.
It doesn't have his name in it, because I was trying to show some love.
He is smart enough to know a subtle implication; but will he face
A little bit of my goodwill with appreciation and heartfelt grace?

    hahahaha
    that was really funny indeed...
    it happens allot though !

but if you were an inner beauty seeker
what you see is what you get

you remind me of a famous poem
wait i well get it for you in a min.

    EDIT :

    Phenomenal woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I'm telling lies.
    I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
    And to a man,
    The fellows stand or
    Fall down on their knees.
    Then they swarm around me,
    A hive of honey bees.
    I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
    The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can't touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
    I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I'm a woman

    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need of my care,
    'Cause I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

Your mention of two faces makes me smile,
For some time back arose an awful claim.
This misconception ruled for quite a while -
That you and I in fact were both the same.

Unfairly in my shadow you were cast,
And seen as just another 'mask' of mine.
So it is good to see you prove at last
That you were your own person all the time.

Your talent clearly oozes from each pore,
You needn't fear that you take second place.
A thoroughbred to your poetic core -
And never did you share another's face.

    A hypocrite is someone who's two-faced -
Mistaking us as one was quite misplaced.

see what a little makeup does, when it is not applied?
This is why I do not wear it for the most part, and I am aging quite well.

Mr-Know-It-All,apparently you don't know anything in this case...he does not steal poems,he writes his own stuff, perhaps you should take a lesson in not being rude, but I believe they make medication for rudeness and ignorance now,and may I suggest a therapist of some sort to help you get over yourself and learn to move on and appreciate others...

As for the poem,it is once again another great one,the two faced-ness seems almost reminiscent of deja-vu for a time in the future..very nice if I do say so myself.

I've been reading your poetry for awhile and enjoy what you've written. I think we've all met people who fit this profile. Well done!
