In Canada's Wind mobile, why can't you use wifi with their social black berry add on?

I don't get why I can't use WIFI unless I either go for their unlimited plan or no internet plan at all? Can anybody explain why? Is their a technical reason or are they just being mean?

they just want you to add on their data plan. also facebook, myspace will not work with wifi even though you have downloaded it from their site. they have agreements with carriers to not allow wifi with their apps

    It's some RIM thing...

Wifi will work with anything that isn't BIS

You can install opera mini for your berry, wifi browsing will work that way
