    If you are paying retail for the new phone, or buying it used, you will not need to extend your contract to purchase it. If you want the "promo price" from Sprint, you will need to be eligible for upgrade AND extend your contract for another 2 years.

    I'm not so sure that is going to help with your text message delivery speeds, though.

    If I have the BlackBerry Curve 8350i (sprint/nextel) can I switch over to a BlackBerry

    Tour 9630 (sprint)? Hey my blackberry curve 8350i just broke.... when ever some one sends me a text message I wont get it for another 5-6 hours..... so I am thinking about switching to the blackberry tour 9630.... I have the money but can I make the transfer with out opening up a new contract or anything??
