I am considering enlisting in the US military to pursue firefighting. I know a lot of Military firefighting jobs are handed over to civilian depts, and I know slots for firefighters are hard to come by. But I am willing to wait. Not sure about both branches, but I think it is possible to secure an MOS in the army right? , and I heard in the air force you cannot.
Also, how is military firefighting.? I heard the training at Goodfellow AFB is pretty tough. Also, do you have a lot of work to do? or will I be sitting around most of the time if I make it?

any other tips, info, advice on Military firefighting? 21m?
also, what about the other branches?
I didn't list navy or coast guard because I am not into being stationed on a ship, but I am still all ears on it.
Thanks!
also, do you get any medical or emt training in the army or air force firefighting career?
