How can I treat an infected wound in my dog?

My dog is 12 years old and has cirrhosis of the liver. About a year ago she developed a tumor like mass on her hip that didn't bother her at all. The vet checked it last year and there were abnormal cells, but because of her liver condition, surgery and further tests weren't practical.

About two weeks ago she went back to the vet for her regular checkup, and he checked the mass again. We obviously got the same results. Over the past few days it's gotten a little bigger, redder, and she's licking it like crazy. It never bothered her before and I never saw her lick it until recently.

She's also been a little bit lethargic lately, but given her age and her liver condition that didn't worry us too much (with regards to the growth). About 2 and a 1/2 years ago we were told she would live from a few months to 2 years. Besides this growth we haven't noticed any drastic changes over the years. She's just a little calmer and runs around less, but she's still very mobile and social with us.

Obviously we can't call the vet or take her to the vet until Monday, so is there anything we can do in the mean time? We think it might be infected and it seems to be getting worse. We're very concerned about her.

    Please, please help.
