Is common courtesy becoming less common nowadays?

I hear people say please and thank you less often, and fewer will hold the door open for me, or offer me a seat on a bus or train.

I think its a little bit of evolution. People start to learn manners are less needed (unconsciously) but there might be a day where everything is if you don't have manners you go to jail. But I'm not really sure why. I never noticed this til you brought the attention to my eyes.
Thumbs up if you think there needs to be more manners

That and a lot of other things people of a certain age take for granted. Like children should be seen and not heard, respect your elders, earn what you get and share what you can.

    yes i agree

common courtesy has considerably reduced-------------------------the age of chivalry ------has long gone

even if i extend courtesies or please and thank you's--------or offer to help people in need that i don't know------

or move forward to help ------damsels in distress ,,,,or women in trouble,,,,,or other people

they look suspiciously -------and smell a rat ,,,or think something is fishy---------

even sincere efforts to help is misunderstood in this modern world---------

its all because of trolls in real life [cheats, fraudsters, con-men] that ordinary people have lost trust ---------to believe in another human being,,,

    just my view----------and practical experience

yes very much so and it can be vice versa.Someone will hold the door open for another and they won't bother to say thank you.

I do all of that still. If bus or train depends on what kind of mood Im in. But yes I see that a lot especially at work.
