It sucks
Louisiana contains 25 percent of the vegetated wetlands and 40 percent of the
tidal wetlands in the 48, yet coastal wetland loss for Louisiana represents 67% of the nation's total loss. We've lost 1300+ sq. miles of coast.
what's aggravating about this are the people who say "well, if you use plastic blah blah blah." Yea, we get it. We know it's needed. Yea, drilling has to happen. The fact of the matter is that BP was pressuring to drill faster on the rig and ignored shit that was fucking up. How are any regulations going to fix anything if the company doesn't abide by them?
There's really nothing to find out. BP fucked up and NO ONE knows how to fix this. It's not like the federal gov't and BP aren't working 24/7 to come up with ideas to cap this thing.
Do something about it, live without using anything made with or that uses oil for a day.
I'm sure there are plenty of news media that is happily complacent being fed whatever scraps they're given but those that are wanting to dig deeper are being met with this...

An unfortunate tragedy, too all those bitching about drilling for oil I hope you aren't consuming any plastics, fuels, oils or the dozens of other products that rely on those oil wells. We ALL rely on oil one way or another.
