Hmm, Paul Bettany seems to be a good choice.

i actually love that tom hanks was cast as langdon. langdon has a lot of intellegence and depth and heart in his character and i can see tom hanks acting him very very well.
who would be sophie? that one is kind of puzzling me.
exactly! that's why I said earlier it was more about Sophie than Langdon, I had the feeling there was actually more of Audrey in it all... like it was her "journey" with Langdon as a background, which felt strange since Tom's acting was more like: "yeah, whatever". Is it only me who felt that they were kinda emotionless about everything and actually only Leigh showed a little bit of excitement? nope just me?
I never pictured Langdon as physically sexy or hideous looking while reading, so Hanks seems like a good choice to me. I'm not familiar with Delpy's work. I've only seen her as a guest on Graham Norton's show, but she seems lovely.

Sir Ian McKellen is in it! I can so see him as Teabing.
When the news about The Da Vinci Code the movie came out, i was actually thinking of Viggo Mortensen as Langdon. He could play that role really well, plus he's got all the stuff Langdon has - that cleft, the body. It's just him. I agree that Tom Hanks was miscast. No matter how good he isas an actor, if the role doesn't suit him, he'll not stand out.
Paul Bettany  he made Silas look hot. Silas' supposedly a huge scary creepy Albino. Though, he played his role really really well. I thought he actually has the best performance in the movie, but he's the character that is colsest to the character on the book.
RE: Angels and Demons, that is my favourite novel! I would be thrilled if it'll be a movie, but please not Tom Hanks again.
Yeah I wasn't thrilled with Tom Hanks being chosen for the part but hopefully it won't bother me so much while watching the movie. I agree that Paul Bettany looks perfect but I pictured someone more portly for Teabing. Actually when I saw Ian McKellen was in the cast I immediately thought he'd be playing the grandfather so I was surprised when I found out that wasn't the case.
I jsut got back from seeing it. I liked it, the book was better but I enjoyed the movie. although I didnt like Tom as Longdon it just didnt seem right to me thats not a all how I pictures him when I read the book. I loved Paul in the movie he played Silas perfectley. I also didnt really like the ending of the movie either
