    05 C90T Starting Problem, Maybe Compression Lock

    I posted this elsewhere, but this is where I started so please bear with me. I have had the same very intermittent problem, always a long way from home. Multiple tries with starter switch finally worked, didn't know about rocking. Any other diagnostics? Also put hard chrome pipes 2 into 1 on my 90T and love them, but they obscure oil level view, and make adding oil very difficult...put on by dealer 3 years ago...any ideas about cures. Problems are due to routing of the pipes and removal 'nuts' etc. Thanks!

    05 C90T Starting Problem, Maybe Compression Lock

    Ahhhh, now we know that your bike is not a Schwinn. The C90T is pretty infamous for AM pipes blocking the site glass and making adding oil a PITA. Get yourself a ball end allen, can't remember the size 6mm or 5mm??, and grind off the short end to about 3/8". This will allow you to get in there and turn the allen bolt a bit. Also get yourself a pair of long, curved needle nose pliers to finish turning the bolt, put a rag on your pipes to avoid scratching. Wallaahh, now you have it. As far as checking the oil level either get a mirror or have someone, preferably a competent rider, to sit on the bike while you check the level.

    If you don't want to do this I would gladly sell you my stock pipes for a fair price and your problem will be completely solved.

    Starting problem sounds like a decomp issue.

    Thanks for the feedback, especially on the oil view etc. Appreciate stock pipes offer, but still have my own. Keep the shiney side up! Quicksilver.
