Someone asked why Toyota is not asking for a bailout. Do they know Toyota is a...

...foreign company? I only ask because the question is listed as resolved and the "best" answer had to do with Toyota is better at business or something similar. How stupid are you people? The US does not bail out foreign companies. If you are going to ask or answer at least have some small bit of knowledge of the world around you.

Toyota isn't asking for a bail out because Toyota is making money.

Do YOU know their U.S. operations are separately incorporated here; that Toyota North America IS an American company? If you are going to belittle others' postings, at least have some small bit of knowledge of the world around you.
Also, since they're profitable, expanding, buying and building more plants and just in NO financial trouble at all, it would be pretty hard to go into D.C. and say, "Hey, even though we're awash in profits, how about slipping some of those tax dollars our way?"

Toyota is both a foreign company and a domestic company, just like Ford, Chrsyler, and GM.

Toyota has a parent company in Japan. It has subsidiary companies around the world, including the U.S. The big 3 are organized along the same line, but the parent company is in the United States--or maybe it isn't. For all we know, the ultimate parent is chartered in the Cayman Islands.

At any rate, if there were a bailout for Toyota, it would be for the US subsidiary of Toyota, not the parent. I'm not saying this would be a good thing, but face it: If Ford's Japanese subsidiary thought it could wheedle some money out of the Japanese government, it would ask, wouldn't it?

BTW, where did you get that name?

Toyota makes better vehicles than GMC, Ford and Chevy. Even if they were an American company they wouldn't need a bailout.

Probably they know but also realize that Toyota and Honda make better cars and don't need no stinkin government handout.
