I meant the HTC Touch Pro when I said "TP". I just wanted to clear that up. :buddies:

I just noticed that the touch pro is no longer available on the website. I think it was still there last week. I guess they finally depleted stock of a phone that hasn't been manufactured in well over a year. I wonder if they had to stoop to selling refurbs.

Oops. Oh well, I still stand by my statement that the 6800 was a good phone. I'd still be using it if the keyboard hadn't stopped working.

The TP is still available online for me. Just checked to see if they had any new phones and it's still listed.

That's weird. It must be different depending on zip code. The touch pro isn't listed for me. I do notice that they changed the website layout since this morning. Maybe this is a hint of changes to come.

Ok folks, this is interesting. I called customer service again just to see if they had gotten any more information. I spoke to a very nice lady and I asked her if she new what model the android phone would be. She said that at this time she wasn't sure what the model would be, but she was pretty sure that it is a Motorola. I quickly asked again if it would be an HTC or Motorola and she again said that she was almost positive that the new android phone was going to be a Moto. She that it was scheduled to be available in May.

I pray that it's not the Devour.

Clay is almost always spot on with his predictions. You could say he's very close to the subject at hand. I know you guys have high hopes, but a Hero is what it looks to be.

I'd absolutely love a droid, but a hero is nice i suppose.

It sure was better in pretty much all practical aspects that mattered. The body of the 6800 was easier to hold and not slippery and smudge resistant. The 6800 had actual useful buttons. The TP has a nifty button system, but 4 individual buttons would have been more functional. Having a start, email, and camera button is what I miss the most on my TP. Can't forget about that volume/scroll wheel on the side. That was very handy.

If HTC would have just taken the 6800, increased the hardware a bit, maybe upped the screen, it would have been a good successor. I wish I would have not accepted the TP as a in store Assurion replacement for my 6800. I should have waited for one to be shipped.

That's what happened to my 6800. the space bar became so unreliable. I literally wore it out as I used that phone non-stop for Exell out in the field.

With my TP, the keyboard is so flaky, I don't even bother to waste my time sliding it out.. since 3/4 of the the time it freezes up or repeats the same letter a hundred times.

Simply, I used my 6800 for alot of tasks, I hardly bother with my TP since it's not very reliable and ends up just frustrating me.

You have mentioned this a couple of times about Clay. What is his secret if you can share it with the public.. is he a Alltel insider?

Does the Droid do decent Exchange support? The Hero is praised highly for what HTC did in respect.

While I'm not completely sure of his job, I do believe he works for Alltel, and he gets to play with all the new toys...er phones before we know about them.

Sorry clay if I'm talking you up too much, I just want people to know that while there is a lot of speculation being thrown out there, you generally have a solid backing in your predictions.

Also I'm not sure about exchange on Droid... however it is quite a stunner hardware-wise. If it had 512mb ram I'd take it over a Nexus 1 or Incredible on Verizon.
