    Ultimate Guide To Folding@home

[b]Just got my first 2500 part WU. My other 4 up until now have been 500 parts, so this one is gonna take a long, long time...

Just out of interest, how long (on average) does it take you chaps to complete a 500 part WU, and what CPU have you got?

[b] The amount of frames contained in a WU says nothing 'bout how long it will take to finish the WU.
You can have a 2500 frames WU finishing faster than a 100 frames WU.
On the Summary page you can look up the WU you are working on; find out how many points that one earns you.
My rig (AMD 2400+) is capable of earning me about 3 points an hour.

All WU's are benchmarked on a slow PC (Pentium II 500 I think), and points are given to that particular WU according to the outcome.

Nigel, look at it this way:

In those days you had 7% of the points the leader had,
now you have 26% of the points the leader has.

You ARE making progress

It's 160 points worth, and takes 25 minutes to complete a frame
----------> almost 42 hours to complete this WU
    ----------> 160/42 = 3.84 points per hour!

I want more of these !
I've got that one on my main pc, and P859 on my XP1700. That one is going to take about 56 hours, so there won't be any changes to my stats for a couple of days.

On the up side, a friend is going to GIVE me a dual Athlon mobo and processors (1 Ghz I think), then I will really be able to raise some dust.

Btw, anyone got any info on ocing dual processor systems?

    OK as a start.

I think it would be better to give a link to the F@H downloads page for downloads rather than host it. That way it will always provide a link to the latest version, and provide the versions for linux and Mac too.

Spell and grammar check on the about page might be useful. :-"
