Nice one! Very impressed with Ch5 for doing this.
I was suprised to see the advert on Five for The Mentalist on sunday night saying that it is back on the 15th October as I was expecting it to be delayed untill the new year but im very happy that it is back. Its great friday night viewing and only a month behind the US
Look out for this launch promo on Five. Don't think its been shown yet, maybe next week.

I thought the same too. I was actually really enjoying the repeats of Season 1 as I wasn't really into the Mentalist when it first started. They're going to stop the repeats aren't they, when they start showing season 3?
Like the new adverts for the mentalist season 3 during the repeat tonight, with little snippets of an interview with Simon Baker. Hope they show the full interview at some point like the behind the scenes programmes they had for series one.
The teasers/aRAB have been excellent. Really stoked about the big series return next week. And kudos to them also for bringing it to us so early. Channel Five gets a lot of stick on these forums but in my eyes they can't do much wrong at the minute!
If you can't wait until next Friday, it's on the Demand Five website. I do like The Mentalist and it seem Five likes the show to bring it back early.
I wonder what the reasoning for that is? You would think the way they have been advertising this they are wanting a big audience for the first ep but they put it on their website? Seems odd but then they're just keeping with the times and trying to keep as close to US transmission date as possible.
They did it with the first couple of episodes of Dark Blue too as far as I can tell (I don't have a TV so only watch online, but going by the dates that's the case). Not sure of the reasoning behind it, but I watched them anyway, and now I'll spend ages moaning about the gap!
