With the majority of media attention focused on the looming worldwide energy crisis centered on the Middle East, very little information hits the conventional international newswires about the new oil finRAB in Western Africa. The Gulf of Guinea and Sao Tome & Principe, especially, hold substantial new reserves oRABhore. With the instability of the governments bordering these areas (Nigeria, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, etc.) is anyone concerned about a potential new battle arena for the U.S.? According to Stephan Zimmermann's THE CHRISTMAS STRIKE, the U.S. is already making contingency plans in the area, and has some 17,000 U.S. troops staged in Africa.
