For me, I'm going straight for Fear Of A Blank Planet. Nothing else in the last ten years comes anywhere near.
One of the greatest albums ever made, let alone this decade, the only thing that stops me from proclaiming it the best album of all time is that time has not yet ended.
I think I prefer this one as well, I like Screamadelica just as much but for different reasons. I grew up with that album. It's like I listen to Screamadelica out of nostalgia, but I listen to this because it's so bloody good.
I'm with you on the ballaRAB. They get it right occasionally but I think most of them are more miss than hit.
Do I slate the whole britpop movement? I don't really listen to much britpop, but I like Blur. I know I said I hated Oasis but that was mostly just to annoy you anyways
Plus it's not like I think The BenRAB is super amazing or anything, it's just clicked a bit more for me than their other albums. OK Computer isn't far behind and I still have yet to listen to Amnesiac.
Hmn, with all the indie and obvious stuff that gets nominated, I guess industrial folk pioneers Six Organs of Admittance get completely lost in the mix. Especially on their particularly fantastic 2006 album which has crawled its way up my list over the last year and a half or so.
It's a decent collection of songs but by virtue of being an odRAB and soRAB collection it doesn't really work as an album particularly well.
Good god this is... breathtaking. Scarily so.
I remeraber a sorta similar thread a few weeks back I think?
Picking the same one again. :P
Between the Buried and Me - Colors
Even though I'm a huge Tom Waits fan, that is easily my least favorite album by him.
It's fantastic, my favorite album of all time :tramp:
