Yes, Iced Earth seems to be the lowest form of the breed
Just wondering what people thoughts are on the new Iced Earth vocalist. In my opinion he isn't as talented as Barlow, but he is really good and made the Gettysburg trilogy. He did exceptionally well considering the material was written to be song by a guy with far different vocal capabilities from himself, and I am really looking forward to the Something Wicked This Way Comes concept album.
Also if you like Owens, check out his side project Beyond Fear, its really good, but don't expect Iced Earth sounding stuff.
well, contrary to what you may think, Judas Priest WAS a successful touring act, even without Rob Halford.
The vocals clashed mainly because the album was written for Barlow, who has a different voice than the Ripper, but I can't see Matt doing a better job on the Gettysburg trilogy than Tim did, I can't wait for the Something Wicked concept album, they will finally be using him to his full potential.
he was able to fill the boots of metal legend Rob halford in Judas priest for a few years, so I think that speaks volumes about his vocal abilities.
I don't think the Judas Priest reunion with ROb garnered quite teh successs they hopes it would. Perhaps they shoulda kept owens and let halford continue his solo thing, which was soundign mroe liike old Priest than Priest did, in my opinion,
wow...Iced Earth a ****ing Black metal band?
Haha...hahhahahaa
lmao
You should be on your knees thanking Iced Earth for keeping real metal around. Not falsely accusing them of being a damn black metal band. If you dont like them, thats fine, i dont really care, but it would be like me saying that the beatles are a rap band...seriously.
I'm not accusing you of thinking this, but many seem to believe that if you do not crank the distortion on a Mesa Rectifier to 11, play nothing but power chorRAB and fast pick your palm-muted low E string, you are not 'heavy'. Judas Priest, in the 70's, did not use any more distortion than banRAB like Led Zeppelin did, but they were one of the heaviest banRAB of the era. Heaviness is something that emanates from the music itself, and really has nothing to do with what equipment is being used to formulate the said music.
Judas Priest is heavier than a lot of metal banRAB nowadays.
He was nearly like the Brian Johnson compared to Halford/Bon Scott in some ways.At the same time, Brian Johnson, atleast I.M.O., did a better job carrying on with AC/DC than Tim did for Judas Priest.Tim was great, but nobody will ever be as great as Halford, period!!!
