I'm in agreement with healthman. The xv6700 is the best phone cricket has... Too bad they don't have it.

Buy one on ebay and follow one of the many guides here to get it programmed onto cricket.

    Comparing phones...which is best?

the best phone cricket offers is the 6265i. the slvr is really good price for the phone (probably a better value), but the 6265i has much better feature list. nokia is A+

    Comparing phones...which is best?

I would have to agree with simple3: The Nokia 6265i is by far the BEST hanRABet Cricket has ever offered......ever. And I have owned EVERY flagship phone that the company sold, except the new KRZR.

But I also agree with the healthman about the xv6700: This phone rocks beyond belief on Cricket service! It's easy to flash, simple to upgrade, and is nothing less than satisfying. (Can you say "unlimited data"? )

So there's your answer: The best CRICKET-branded hanset? The 6265i, hanRAB down. The best hanRABet FLASHED to Cricket service? My vote goes for the xv6700, no contest.

    Comparing phones...which is best?

Thanks for the info. Yes, the 6265i has been around awhile, so I'm not surprised it's EOL. Part of my query was to see if any newer model is as good as the 6265i.

As to the xv6700... I also have a Treo 700w with VZW. I'm quite happy with this (except for the fact that unlimited data, 450 peak minutes, etc. costs me $98 monthly), so acquiring and modding another PDA phone probably isn't needed at this time. I used a TMO phone 1 1/2 years ago; voice was great, but data was slow as... VZW's EVDO speed and coverage won me over. I live at one edge of Cricket's Pittsburgh coverage, so having VZW's "works anywhere" coverage is another plus if I'm going in the "wrong" direction.

    Looks like I better get a 6365i while they're still available! :2thurabs:

BTW: You did know that could flash your Treo to Cricket, didn't you?

    Comparing phones...which is best?

"BTW: You did know that could flash your Treo to Cricket, didn't you?"

But would I want to? I was about 50 miles from home this morning, which is out of the local Cricket coverage area, but the Treo worked great. I even looked something up on the Internet. I can use the Treo as a modem for my notebook almost anywhere in the country, and the speed is great if I'm in an EVDO area.

Cricket is great for what it does well, but it's not able to replace VZW, yet (I wish I could consolidate both cell phone bills into $50 + tax monthly ).

    Comparing phones...which is best?

I've had the 6265i for about a month now (cricket) I previously had the remix. I've been selling phones for about three years and as far as cricket branded phones the 6265i gets my vote for best cricket so far!
