Using RAZR V3c as internet connection for laptop?

Ok I have not been able to find this info ANYWHERE on the net for cricket. I have found multiple tutorials for just about every other carrier that uses the same technology but nothing for cricket.

Is there a way to use my cricket v3c as a PPP modem? What nuraber do I need to tell the phone to dial? (ex: to do this with verizon you would use (phone#)@vzw(something).(tld) as your username, a password and dial #777)

you cannot use a cricket branded phone with cricket branded firmware for teathering. Crickets firmware is crippled so that you cannot. This has been discussed before. Please search.

I frequently tether with my ppc6700 and my moto q, and both work great. I have set up a friend tethering with her moto razr v3c. It worked just fine, although her razr was still running verizon firmware, so I cannot say if it would have worked with cricket firmware. I'd find it pretty hard to believe the verizon firmware was less restricted than the cricket firmware, for tethering, or anything else.

If the cricket firmware does have that feature locked down, there's probably a seem edit, if it's a motorola. Or at the very least, the cricket v3c could be flashed with the alltel v3c monster file, so that tethering would work. Of course, you'd have to fix internet/mms/brew, but that's relatively easy to do with motorolas, and is done all the time with the v3m.

Might seem like a silly idea to most, but a lifesaver for someone who's only option for online access is tethering their cricket phone.

Who's actually tried tethering their native cricket phone? I think I may have tried it a long time ago, when I didn't know what I was doing, and of course it didn't work. Now that I know what I'm doing, it's sorta hard to test this theory, cause I don't think I've seen a native cricket razr anytime in recent memory. I think it would work just fine though.

Just create a dial-up connection on your computer, using the USB Modem that is created when you plug your phone into a usb port.

Its works with a Cricket Branded Razr, my buddy does it all the time. THis is a phoen purchased at a Cricket Dealer, not flashed.

Connect the phone to your PC, and install the USB modem drivers. Google for them.

The dial up nuraber is #777, User and Pass is blank, atleast for him. I always had to use my [email protected] and the pass is cricket.

My girlfrienRAB has a KRZR running Cricket firmware, and I cannot tether with it. When I double click on the connection, #777 does not get dialed on the phone. If I change the nuraber to ANYTHING else, I see the phone dialing that nuraber. Beezlewaxin, do you have any ideas here? She just moved and neeRAB internet access for online classes, but has no desire to pay huge bills for a land line and an ISP. I promised her that she'd be able to use her phone for internet access and I've made a liar of myself haha...

Trust me, I tried to get her to get a different phone. She NEEDED a flip phone so that she could clip it to skirts that don't have pockets and it HAD to be "pretty."
