mine is probably Military and western. and my favorites from the military genre are Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Generation Kill, Black Hawk Down, We Were Soldiers, and Letters from Iwo Jima

my favorites from Westerns are Appaloosa, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, 3:10 to Yuma (remake), and Hidalgo (sorda a western)
