Thread: Google Maps: Street View Photos?

So I was looking at Google maps of my hometown and clicked on the street view to view my house. I'm amazed at how they have such detailed photos of almost anywhere in the world! My question is, are these all taken by satellite? I realize that the city shots, and yes the street shots are probobly satellite but even the close ups where you can see my car in the driveway, flowers on the porch, and cat in the grass?? This is amazing....
