My horse a couple of months ago developed a condition where his coronary bands became all flakey and dry, and his heels were quite scabby. The vet said he was low in Zinc and gave me a supplement and some zinc cream to put on his feet.

the zinc helped his coronary bands and they have improved. But his chestnuts have gone kind of weird. It's the most obvious on his front legs. But the chestnuts have fallen off and now they just look pink. They have been like that for a while and don't seem to be improving. On his back legs his chestnuts haven't really changed that much.

Just wanting to know if anybody has any ideas about this? and also how long does it take for chestnuts to grow back? they have never fallen off like this before.

Thanks.
