The Nokia N76 is a slim and stylish folding portable multimedia computer supporting WCDMA 2100/EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 or EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 for some regions.

I think I'm going to get this phone just based on the fact that it comes with an internal 3.5mm headphone audio jack. More handset manufacturers need to follow suit. I'm going to buy it on principle alone

I think that's the biggest pissfest on the American telecommunications industry EVER. I'm a Nokia fanboy. I'll openly admit it. But when you come to an AMERICAN cellphone convention and go on and on (watch the webcast) about how Mobile Internet is the future with your devices, and then announce 2 new handsets, one of which doesn't even have GSM 850 (which is heavily used in some areas of the States) and the other of which there's a 3G version for Europe, but for the States they'll strip that out for you, I take that as being pissed on.

I agree. Makes you wonder if they even care about the American market? Seems like we are a side note sometimes...and they just make handsets to have them here.

They strip those features out on the carrier's request.

They arent in the business to honour everyone. They are in the business to maximize profits. Why bother making a kick *** handset that american carriers will want castrated?

to that note, why bother raping your own product so much so that ONE carrier will offer it, thereby restricting yourself to a small portion of possible consumers. Cellphone manufacturers need to quit freakin trying to please the carrier distribution method.

    Wirelessly posted (Nokia 6682: Nokia6682/2.0 (4.65.0) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Doesnt make sense 2 me. How hard could it be 2 make a quad band phone? And why would Cingular not want a phone that works on their 3g network?
