birthday present = ps3/ noob help

ok just got my ps3. got it from comp usa because they had a 70 dollar 2 year replacement warranty and it being a first generation their might be glitches in it so this is the cheapest warranty i found and a good investment/idea.

next if you get it and origianly play it with rca cables but upgrade to higher connections later you have to go to the first connection made to tell the unit to use the higher output
example : i got hdmi cables 3 days later, and i had to go plug in the rca cables to tell the ps3 to use the hdmi output...
just trying to save some people the aggression of plugging in hdmi and not gettin a signal.

2nd of all. if you dont have a hdtv, dont get a ps3, there is no point. that is the bottom line.

how much are HDMI cables I went to BB the other day and they wanted like 150$ for a set I saw near the TVs

If you hold the power button for 5 seconds (until the system powers on) it should detect the HDMI connection.
