Because Linkin Park were originally named Lincoln Park because they always drove past it when they were on their way to the recording studio.
They couldn't spell it this way, due to legal issues and so changed it to Linkin Park.
i think cuz they sound alike that's why and they can't be bothered to see which is the right spelling
Saying it would be the same thing. Nothing is different about the pronunciation. But a lot of people say Linking Park.
Well, if they don't know the band, they won't know how to spell it, because 'Lincoln' is pronounced as 'Linkin' so they think 'Lincoln' is the right spelling.
